Aug. Short stay seven years after that memorable summer. More enjoying than visiting.
Jun. Regensburg, the best preserved medieval town in Germany, UNESCO-listed. Nearby, the Walhalla temple. Füssen and Oberstdorf as examples of nice small alpine villages.
Fun & friends
May. Pleasant long weekend to enjoy the company of old friends, revisiting the capital of Slovenia and entering Croatia for the first time in my life. The AEGEE Spring Agora brought some fun and new crazy people...
Mar. First day trip since I moved to my new life in Munich.
Feb. Nice strolling on a splendid sunny weekend.
Jan. Tübingen, Ulm and two castles: Burg Hohenzollern and Schloss Lichtenstein. Scary climbing to the top of the highest church in the world...

Sep. One full day strolling the medieval Altstadt of Bamberg, another UNESCO World Heritage site.
Aug. Heading North to escape the heat in Madrid downtown. Excursions to the sierra, and a weekend spotting Cantabria: Santander, Comillas, Santillana, Puente Viesgo. Way back via Orbaneja del Castillo (superb landscapes, canyon of river Ebro) and Burgos, proud of its just restored Catedral.
Aug. One week touring Normandy and Brittany, focusing on the latter. We started in Rouen, heading to the coastal Étretat and Honfleur before visiting the D-day beaches (still no cemetery impresses me more than the one in Henri-Chapelle, Belgium). Our Breton part mixed much of the coast (Île de Bréhat, Pointe du Raz...), many villages and nature inland (Huelgoat, St-Thégonnec) and a bunch of its most remarkable towns: St-Malo, Dinan, Quimper, Pont-Aven, Lorient (Celt party!), Vannes, Rennes. We could not leave the region without a visit to Mont Saint-Michel.
Tokyo | Kyoto | more
Jul. Fascinating approach to Japan in an intensive solo backpacker journey. A very hot, humid weather didn't stop me from exploring Tokyo and Kyoto, main bases for day trips to Hiroshima, Nara, Himeji, Nikko and Kamakura. Especially impressed by the friendliness and cultural richness of Kyoto, it took me longer to discover Tokyo - I must say I just saw a small part of it: Ueno, Asakusa, Ginza, Shinjuku, Kagurazaka. My time in Japan was a non-stop observing, photographing and enjoying a westernised life not so different from what I live in Europe, except for an infinite amount of small curious details - this is what makes the trip so unforgettable and rewarding.
May. A weekend visiting Erfurt, Weimar, and the infamous KZ Buchenwald.
Apr/May. Not exactly close one another, these three locations are interesting (but not especially remarkable) day trips. Best of all, the Völklinger Hütte, ironworks declared a World Heritage site.
Apr. Easter holidays having a look at nordic nature, towns and people. Our journey started in Denmark (Copenhagen, Odense & south of Fyn, isle of Møn) and continued by touring southern Sweden (from Malmö to Kalmar & Öland, then to Göteborg via Växjö). Last part was Norway, a gorgeous Oslo-Bergen by train, visiting both towns and driving along the fjords...
Mar. Two following weekends visiting two good friends in London (some new places discovered and a day trip to Canterbury) and Bristol.
Feb. Back to the Bavarian capital in a snowless and sunny weekend. Better photos than those I took three years ago...
Feb. A few nice photos of Speyer's landmarks including its UNESCO-World-Heritage-listed Cathedral.
Feb. Ketsch and Schwetzingen on the Rhine and Greding in Bavaria.
Dec. Both day-trips focusing on Ávila's Wall and Aranjuez's Royal Palace.
Dec. Charming villages and Christmas markets in a fantastic long weekend by autocaravan.
Nov. Four months later, I came back. A mild weather despite of the season made these three days another great stay. We strolled again and visited Potsdam and the excellent Pergamon Museum. Photos are merged with those from Jul.
Turkey
Sep. A country to satisfy any holiday needs... The amount of ancient ruins, unique landscapes, charming villages and impressive mosques, churches, buildings and monuments is simply awesome, enough to fulfill dozens of trips the same superb. Yet, the best is forgetting about canned organized tourism and living the country, the people and its culture. From Istanbul to Konya, from Çanakkale to stunning Capadoccia, these are the photos of one of our greatest journeys.
Aug. The Black Forest hides real wonders between all those trees. We enjoyed nature (great landscapes, waterfalls in Triberg, jungle-ish walks at Wutachschlucht), nice villages like Freudenstadt, and of course the charming Freiburg.
Aug. Sort stay on a Saturday evening... I better wait for a longer visit to upload some photos.
Jul. Herrlich!!! My first time there and I am impressed. History, youth, opportunities, new ideas, wonderful sights and so much fun meet here. Luck would be getting a job and moving there for a year...
Jun. Some days with my parents. I am still in love with this city, although I agree in part with those who say it's a bit... overestimated. Tough discussion!
May. Visiting our friends in Luxembourg and enjoying the capital of Alsace, Strasbourg. Short visits to Trier and Metz.
AEGEE Spring Agora in Warsaw
May. Another great AEGEE event + discovering this very nice capital city on our own. The Old Town (Stare Miasto) was entirely reconstructed after total destruction in 1944. Amazing.
Apr. Nature, relax and culture on Easter holidays. Pure non-spoiled Mediterranean coast at Alghero, idilic spiaggias (beaches) and dramatic landscapes from Capo Caccia to Costa Smeralda. I particularly enjoyed Capo d'Orso and Capo Testa.
Apr. Pleasant stay with friends in Amsterdam and way back to Maastricht through Utrecht and mills at Kinderdijk. See some photos in moments section. I will upload some here... eventually.
Nov. Ten days visiting much of Serbia, often driving off the tourist paths. From its monasteries (Manasija, Resavica, Studenica, my favourites), little rural villages (Topola and its St. George's church hosting the Karađorđe's mausoleum) to cities like Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, Subotica... Although countryside looks not-so-developed and urban centres a bit gritty, history and diversity made it a very interesting trip. We also entered Hungary to visit Szeged, and Romania to discover Timişoara. Both really nice.
Aug-Sep. You must go to believe it. I simply fell in love with this island. Earth stays wild here. Waterfalls, deserts of ash, mountains, glaciers, splendid natural parks, active volcanic areas. Apart from the pics of the trip, I have created a set of impressive photos.
Aug-Sep. A few days before and after the trip to Iceland. I wanted to come back, that stay in 2002 was definitely short.
Aug. Right in the centre of Germany, I enjoyed the best guided tour in Kassel. Herkules by night is spectacular. Hann. Münden's old town shows fine examples of half-timbered houses.
Apr. A weekend in the friendly and beautiful city of Münster. In our way back home, we payed a visit to Wuppertal, enjoying a ride in its curious and unique Schwebebahn.
Mar. One of the prettiest cities in Europe, no discussion about that. We stayed four days there, non-stop visiting. The only 'con': overcrowded with tourists.
Month. The city where street names don't exist! Now that I see the pics... How could I take so overexposed photos?
Jan. Ten days touring the south of Spain, catching a glimpse of its rich culture & Arab heritage, easy-going life and perfect villages and spots to enjoy the purest southern touch. Remarkable visit to Gibraltar, that big unknown for Spanish people.

Jun. Just a weekend but worthwhile. Although I had visited the city before, it was my very first time in the Alhambra, wonder of wonders.
